In Copenhagen, I saw my first opera: Faust, based on the famous tragic work by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. I knew almost nothing about opera, but the experience taught me a few simple things, from buying the booklet to understanding the story and applauding with appreciation. It became one of those first-time travel memories I will always keep.
