Hi there,
I’m Dai Nguyen, and this is my personal blog about the messy process of understanding myself and the world. Sometimes, I also share about travel, books, freedom, work, and random things I like.
First and foremost, this blog is for me. Along the way, I also write for people building a life away from home, trying to become freer and more honest with themselves.
I started this blog in 2016 with a completely different purpose. Back then, I needed a place to dump my travel experiences because having a travel blog was a trendy thing to do. After two blog posts, I realized it was a lot of work to maintain. Also, English is not my native language—not even my second one—so writing took me a lot of time.
Then, my full focus was working, working, and working. This blog was completely forgotten.
After around eight years of working, I decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Germany. That was when I started writing again. This time, not only about travel stories, but also about what I have learned while overcoming certain challenges in my life. You might find some of my challenges similar to yours.
Living and building a life far from home can be lonely. I find that writing—even when no one is reading—helps me feel clearer, fuller, and more relaxed. Through this process, I realized that thoughts become clearer when they are no longer trapped in my head.
So this blog is a destination where my thoughts normally arrive.
I treat this place as my virtual home, where you are welcome to visit and interact with me. When you enter the home, you will first see five posts that best represent me. Then, you can walk into different rooms, enjoy a coffee, and read further. At the end, let’s leave the house together and follow the paths to freedom.
A lot of what you will find here are unfiltered thoughts, things that arrive randomly in my mind, and small beautiful things that make my life a little more chilled and relaxed.
Without you even asking for advice, my advice is: let’s write. Start a blog.
And if you want to build a blog but don’t know where to start, my honest advice is this: write like no one is reading, because the audience that matters most is you. Start with yourself, and the world will follow.
